VideoLogic DVD Player
MPEG2 decoder card for PCI bus
Driver Version: v1.81
Driver CD Label: "Version 4 01/00 11G62"
Release Notes:
v1.8.1
======
Fixes
- A fix for a bug while accessing the MPEG data on some movies, that displayed the error message MMSYSTEM275.
- Previous releases
v1.8
====
Improvements
- DTS is now supported: whenever you choose the DTS option in a movie menu the output will be directed through the S-P/DIF output in digital format regardless of the DVD Player audio output setting, so the DTS stream is NOT decoded through the analog mini audio jack.
- The sliding audio volume bar shows in full screen.
Fixes
- NTSC to PAL conversion no longer "stutters".
- The special audio output (6 Channel Wave) sound card option has been removed for copyright reasons.
- PC Friendly will correctly play back movies with the colour key set to black (previously video was not shown although audio was heard).
V1.7
====
Improvements
- Basic support for RPC2 drives (DVD-ROM drives that carry the region code).
- The audio special output (6 Channel Wave) now supports the ForteMedia sound card.
Fixes
- Auto-calibration "on the fly" when no calibration has been done before at the current resolution/color depth.
v1.6.2
======
Improvements
- The TV output option has two new settings:
- MultiSystem: the output will follow the source of the movie, i.e. if an NTSC movie the output will be NTSC and the same for PAL
- PAL 60: the output will be at a frequency of 60 Hz, the same as NTSC but with PAL colors (needs TV set with this capability)
- Better handling of the AC-3 output to suppress noise appearing on some Dolby Digital decoders (when AC-3 output is enabled)
- Larger tolerance range for the PAL TV sets
- Addition of a button in DVD Station to set your preferred default DVD-ROM drive
- Addition of the option "/f=filename" on the command line of DVD Station to allow the direct play back of the file
- Improvement in the auto-calibration
- Help file shows a description for the buttons which did not have one in the previous release.
- Support for Chinese help under Chinese Windows
- Special audio output now for the Formosa (nFIC) sound card based on the ESS Canyon3D sound chip.
This audio output setting will route internally the audio output to the sound card, downmixing to 6 channels WAVE API. NO output comes from the stereo audio jack of Hollywood Plus. This setting is ONLY good for this sound card. If you don't have this sound card, please do not use this setting.
Fixes
- Playback with AC-3 audio output for some movies
- Playback on some systems that were crashing when outputting to TV
- Permanent display of some movies' subtitles
- Disappearance of the second subtitle line or the highlighting of a wrong area for the menus buttons on TV
- Movies encoded the same way as "Die Hard III" region 4 which was not played back properly
- Compatibility with the IBM MPEG 2 title "Worldbook 1999"
V1.5
====
Improvements
- Ability to select next chapter when in Chapter Repeat mode
- Support for fine-tuning with some TV sets
- Mouse pointer now disappears until mouse is moved during full-screen playback
- Audio volume and brightness added to DVD Player configuration from Start menu
- Default DVD disk selectable
- Support for multiple audio tracks for Video CDs 1&2, and for routing one channel to left and right speakers
- TV or VGA output available from other applications like Media Player, not just DVD Player Application
Fixes
- Parental control bug for 'Lost in Space' title
- Bug when playing 'Die Hard with a Vengeance' Region 4 title
- Colour calibration for S3 chipset graphics boards
- Non-highlighting of some buttons in menus
- 2x fast Rewind for some Japanese titles only going at 1x
- Stop not working for some Japanese titles
- Parental control passwords being asked for during first setting
- Audio volume changing between files
- Pressing F10 disables acceleration keys
